We are pleased to highlight the successful production of a new line of aviation studs, meticulously engineered from Waspaloy, a high-performance nickel-based superalloy renowned for its exceptional strength, heat resistance and corrosion resistance in extreme environments.
Waspaloy is a precipitation-hardening alloy with a complex and carefully optimised chemical composition. Primarily composed of nickel, it includes controlled additions of chromium, cobalt, molybdenum, and aluminium, which together provide a unique combination of high-temperature mechanical properties and excellent oxidation resistance.
This makes it an ideal material for critical aerospace components operating under intense thermal and mechanical stress.
With stability at elevated temperatures, the studs will exhibit exceptional resistance to oxidation and hot corrosion caused by the aggressive combustion products found in modern gas turbines and aircraft jet engines. This outstanding corrosion resistance remains effective even in prolonged service at temperatures up to approximately 871 °C (1600 °F). Making Waspaloy an ideal material choice for critical aerospace components such as turbine studs, fasteners, rings, and engine hardware operating in severe high-temperature environments.
The very properties that make Waspaloy so valuable in flight-critical applications also make it one of the most challenging materials to machine. Its work-hardening tendency, high strength at elevated temperatures, and abrasive nature require specialised tooling, precise machining parameters and expert craftsmanship.
Our advanced CNC technology and expert operators met these challenges head-on, employing rigorous process controls and years of material expertise. Achieving tight dimensional tolerances, superior thread integrity and clean surface finishes. Every stud undergoes thorough inspection and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with aerospace standards and to guarantee performance in demanding environments.
